Father's Day 2020 in Isolation Food Gift Guide

These are some ideas for Father’s Day I’m thinking about! He’s somewhat difficult to shop for and I know he wouldn’t go out of his way to try stuff like this. I think it would amuse him and he would be really appreciative.

Panbury’s Double Crust Hand Pies (Choose 6)
$79 and free shipping
Southern Breakfast – Fluffy, creamy scrambled eggs, sharp cheddar cheese, fresh chives, and local chicken sausage
Spinach & Feta – Fresh steamed spinach, chunks of creamy feta cheese, green onion, and loads of fresh dill and fresh parsley
Chicken & Mushroom – Succulent chunks of roast chicken, meaty mushrooms, celery, onion, fresh thyme, fresh parsley and white pepper in a creamy white wine sauce

If you have been an earlier follower, you may have seen when my dad recreated empanadas from a restaurant (insert link). He would love these hand pies! He really has a strong appreciation for pies and pastries of all forms. I chose these three because he does not eat red meat for health reasons and these offer enough variety. I think he will really love the breakfast ones because he is a strong supporter of chicken sausage and you don’t see it a lot in breakfast options. I think Marie Callenders could go this route and do really well. I like the idea of an elevated hot pocket.

McClure’s Bakery Whoppie Pies by the Dozen
$35 and free shipping
Red Velvet, Chocolate, Pumpkin
These are always a go-to at the Amish Market. I think he would enjoy trying the different flavors. These are such a fun dessert that you can’t just buy anywhere. I have made these for an ex once but it’s a lot of work. I would have no problem buying a set like this. I like how thick these look as well and you can freeze them as well. If I happened to be around when he gets them, I'd try the classic and pumpkin version.

Arcangeli’s Bakery Artichoke Bread Sampler
$59 free shipping
Artichoke Garlic Herb: Signature Loaf
Pesto Artichoke: Zesty fresh pesto with a generous dose of garlic and artichoke hearts
Cheesy Cheddar Artichoke: Fresh, seasoned artichokes, parmesan cheese, garlic, and spices rolled into French bread dough and topped with a tasty garlic butter sauce and fresh, sharp cheddar cheese.
Artisan Artichoke Focaccia: A traditional flatbread, topped with artichokes, pesto, cheddar, jack, and provolone cheese

Having the bread pre-baked so you can still have that fresh-baked bread smell in the home is a nice touch. Dad loves some fancy bread he can find at whole foods for breakfast or a snack. Artichokes are not represented enough in baked items. It’s always olives. I also haven’t seen bread like this before so it would be interesting to hear how these tastes if I can’t get some from him. Which is possible, dad loves bread. I think he would try the cheesy cheddar version first. I’m realizing all my choices are baked or bread-based but it’s popular for a reason. Plus, this would last for a while.

  1. The Panbury Pies look delicous! It's such a pity that they are only based in the US, my dad would love them!
